BOTHAM  - OUR BENGAL TIGER

 

It is with great sadness we have to report that Botham, our much loved ex Ark resident, has passed away in his 22nd year.

This ginger cat certainly lived up to the reputation red heads have for a fiery temper. As many a ‘cat cuddler’ can confirm, only a very brave person cuddled Botham if he wasn’t in the mood! His indomitable spirit endeared him to us all – what a memorable personality.  We still refer to him at The Ark – he helped at staff interviews – if you could stroke Botham you passed! He helped get ready for our Open Days, except if he decided to sit on something it then had to stay where it was until he decided to move, and he helped ‘cat test’ dogs – any sensible dog agreed straight away that cats were not to be trifled with!

 

When, much to our delight, Botham was adopted by Mike & Judy Gasgoigne, we crossed our fingers and held our breath. However, Botham soon sorted them out, arranged things to his liking and never looked back.  He couldn’t have had a more loving home for his remaining years and we are very grateful to them for giving our much loved Bengal Tiger such a happy life.
