We have monthly Open Days, when you are welcome to come and see what we do and visit
our cats and dogs. At other times, visits to The Ark are by prior appointment.
We are an independent charity and receive no government or lottery help with the
ever-increasing cost of our work, so we rely entirely for our income on our own efforts
and on the generosity of the public. If you would like to help us by making a donation
please click “Donate now” below. Thank you.
Do you enjoy being around dogs?
If so, consider joining our team of volunteer dog workers/walkers. Great fun, great
people, great dogs. There’s always one or two that need that extra special touch,
but you only need to do what you’re happy with and there’s always support on hand.

Great News - Sonny, our recent Special Appeal Dog now has a home of his own!
Tamsin has been with us since she was found wandering the streets in October 2011.
She is a lovely Spaniel cross with a very affectionate nature. A fun loving dog who
enjoys all ball games she will make a great companion.
Hello my name is Millie and I came to The Ark nearly 8 months ago when my owner went
into care and there was no-one left to look after me.
I was used to a quiet home of my own and I really don't like it here as there are
lots of other cats about and I like to be by myself. I've actually got rather depressed
about it all and sit by myself in my pen pretending I'm not really here!
I'm about 11 years old and realise I'm no spring chicken but we older ladies still
have a lot to offer and I am fit and well. I'm undemanding and quiet and just want
a loving home and lap to sit on.....can you help?.
